Chandel: The Indian Army’s Oriental Commander said at least ten militants were killed in a gunfight by Assam rifle units in the Manipur Chandell region on Wednesday. This operation is still in progress. The Army’s Oriental Commander said in an article on X: “Specific intelligence was taken against nearby armed cadres, New Sam Village, Khengjoy Tehsil, the Indian-Manmanmar border near Chandel District, and the Assam rifle forces under Spear Corps launched an operation on May 14, 2025.”
“During the operation, they fired at them through suspicious cadres, reacting to this in a calibrated and measured manner, redeploying and retaliating. In the subsequent firefight, 10 interfering personnel were neutralized and a large number of weapons and ammunition had been restored.
