10 suspected drug users found HIV positive in Malapuram

Ten people allegedly allegedly drug addicts were found to be HIV-positive after screening by the AIDS Control Society in the state.
Malappuram DMO R Renuka said the AIDS Control Society conducted routine screening of HIV in high-risk groups (such as sex workers and drug users) and found that one of the people tested positive for the disease.
The DMO said nine migrant workers, including the same drug addict as the first person, belonged to the same drug addict.
DMO said it was suspected that they all used the same HIV-infected syringe, which led to them suffering from the disease. She said authorities were trying to find out if there were other people in the group and if they were infected. “Our goal is to make sure everyone gets the necessary treatment on time,” the DMO said.
