12th-century social reformer Basaveshwar celebrated in Yadgir

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur said that in the 12th century social reformer Basaveshwar opposed inequality in order to make society enjoy equality. He paid tribute to Yadgir’s social reformers on April 30.

Mr Tunnur said Basaveshwar fights social inequality by collecting saints from different castes through the “Anubhava Mantap”. He added that many social ills have been eradicated due to his actions and awareness.

“Basaveshwar was not only a philosopher and social reformer, but also a good administrator, a good administrator who protected the interests of the people under Bijjala.
