17,348 candidates earn their degree at the 20th meeting of Ksou in Mysuru

20Th The annual meeting of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in Mysuru will be held on March 27 in Mysuru.
Up to 17,348 candidates (6,402 males and 10,946 females) are eligible to obtain their degrees at the convening meeting, which will be held at 11 a.m. on the Muktagangotri campus.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, the university’s president, will preside over the meeting. The Minister of Higher Education and the Pro-Chancellor Dr. MC Sudhakar will be present. The Indian government, New Delhi government’s Skill Development and Entrepreneur Secretary Atul Kumar Tiwari will post the convening address.

Vice President Sharanappa V. Halse shared the details of the convening at a press conference held in Mysuru on March 26, and the honorary doctorate will be awarded to Minister of Public Works Satish L. Jarkiholi, CM Irfanulla Shariff, President of the Indian Society of Education of Chitradurga, Chitradurga and Dakshayini S. Venture capitalists say they will receive 41 PhDs this year, according to him, the highest in recent meetings. Among the winners of the PhD, there were 24 males and 17 females. A total of 54 gold medals and 58 cash medals will be offered to outstanding students.
H. Vishwanath’s Registrar (Assessment) said that 25,109 candidates, including 15,409 women and 9,700 men, participated in the exam, 7,869 candidates cleared the examination, obtained 68.92% results and qualified for the degree.
The most PhDs are awarded in nine economics, while the lowest is English and Food Science, which is one of them. Details of the PhD winners are – Kannada 5, History 4, Political Science 6, Business 7, Management 6 and Microbiology 2.
Under the language school, a total of 6,350 students (2,484 men and 3,866 women) are eligible for degrees.
In the School of Social Sciences, 3,949 candidates, including 1,503 men and 2,446 women, are eligible for degrees. In business schools, 2,472 candidates, including 741 men and 1,731 women, are eligible for degrees, while in management schools, the number of candidates meeting the degree award is 1,172, including 488 men and 684 women.
In the School of Education, there are 495 candidates, including 299 women and 196 men, who are eligible for a degree. Of the science colleges with approximately 17 academic programs, including UG and PG, 2,869 candidates are eligible to earn a degree in the convening convening. Of these, 1,903 were female and male.
10,000 admissions so far
Responding to the number of admissions in this January cycle, the vice principal said nearly 10,000 candidates were enrolled in various courses, and more admissions are expected in the cycle. In the past two years, 89,000 candidates have been accepted.
Defend a PhD
In answering questions about honorary doctorate, Professor Hals defended the university’s decision to award Minister Satish Jarkiholi’s doctorate, saying the honor was in recognition of his social service. He replied: “A list of names for the recommendations for honorary doctorate degrees we received has been sent to the Governor’s Office. A three-member committee composed of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka completed the three names of the award.”
Another question from venture capital said: “We have received applications from members of the Management Committee as they are considering awarding Mr. Jarkiholi’s honorary doctorate degree in Belagavi. Since KSOU has jurisdiction throughout the state, we can consider the work done throughout the state to consider awarding the doctorate award.”
