Season 2 of 1923 consists of eight episodes, the same as Season 1. Initially, there was only one planned season. But the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan realized it would take more time to complete the story. Paramount agreed to split the season into two parts.
Sheridan said the show was different from 1883. He had no complete plan from the beginning and decided to expand the story. He told the network that he needed more plots to make justice for the plot. The structure of the two seasons allows for more detailed storytelling.
