2 held at Secunderabad Railway Station to smuggle Ganja to Maharashtra

Hyderabad: Joint surprise operation The Secunderabad Railway Police Department (GRP), Telangana Anti-Naqat Agency (TGANB) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) led to arrest at the Secunderabad Railway Station for smuggling Dry Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Manmad by Maharashtra in Maharashtra.

The arrests have been identified as Mubeen Ahmed Raheem Khan (51) and Nafees Afsar Khan Pathan (22) of Maharashtra. Another accused Maharashtra absconded, police said.

Police said the three defendants were friends and belonged to Maharashtra. Raheem Khan and Pathan entered the sari hand-design work. They also sell saris in various cities including Pune, Mumbai, Chennai and Visaka Patnam.

Two months ago Atiq offered Raheem Khan Rs 5,000 to ship Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Manmad. A month ago, Raheem Khan transported Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Manmad, earning Rs 5,000 per trip.

Like two days ago, Attic again asked Raheem Khan to transport Ganja. As the police registered the train, Raheem Khan decided to accept someone’s assistance and explained the process to Pathan and gave him Rs 2,000 to transport Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Manmad.

On Tuesday, Raheem Khan and Pathan both came to Visakhapatnam Firway Station, where they were given a blue cart suitcase containing a masked man Ganja who left without revealing his name. After checking the suitcase, they found 9 packs of Ganja inside.

Later, the duo and Ganja joined Nagawali Express. During the trip, they noticed a large number of police officers registering the train at Kazipet Railway Station and tactically escaped. They arrived in Hyderabad by bus and came to Sesendabad Railway Station to Manmad.

By then, the train to Manmad had left. After inquiring at the inquiry counter, they were told that another train in Manmad was scheduled to leave Charlapalli at 3.30 pm. Police arrested them as they left the train station through the waiting hall.

After inquiry, they voluntarily admitted that they owned 1869 kg of Ganja, worth Rs 9.43 lakh. Police seized two cell phones from their property.
