2 missing, 4 injured in explosions in explosive units

Nalgonda: Two workers were missing, and four others were seriously injured in Premier explosives near Katepally in Motakondur Mandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district on Tuesday. Police suspect missing workers, K. Sandeep, 27, and Devi Charan, 30, may be trapped under debris from a building that collapsed after the explosion.
The explosion occurred in the company’s mixing device, while workers were mixing ammonium and potassium to prepare the gelatin rod. At the time of the incident, there were six workers in the department. Police said four injured workers – K. Srikanth, A. Lingaswamy, K. Srkanth and P. Mahesh- were transferred to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment.
Firefighters and police launched debris removal operations to find missing workers. The cause of the explosion has not been determined. After the incident, workers and relatives of the victim staged a Darna in front of the company, demanding justice.
