2 workers buried under the soil while laying pipes in Bellagarve

On April 16, two workers died when dirt was digging out the passage to lay drinking water pipes in Bellagarve. The deceased is from Gokak.

Basavaraj Sarave, 38, and Maruti Sarave of Patagondi Village, 20, died after being stranded under the dirt. Police, fire and first responders were able to dig out two bodies. Their bodies have been taken to the Bellagarve Institute of Medical Sciences.

Workers are digging a passage near the national highway in Gandhi Nagar.

This work was commissioned by a private agency responsible for the city’s 24/7 water program.

Officials from the Mal Maruti Police Department visited the site.
