Protests were raised on the centre’s move to increase the price of LP oil cylinder by Rs 50 on Tuesday.

Former MLA MK Somashekar held a demonstration against rising prices of LPG cylinders at Ramaswamy Circle on Tuesday, as well as an increase in excise tax on gasoline and diesel.

Several congressional workers from different parts of the city joined the demonstration by holding placards. It can be mentioned that the center has made it clear that the increase in the consumption tax on gasoline and diesel by state-owned oil companies will absorb, and the burden of hiking will not be passed on to consumers.

Mr Somashekar said the Centre announced the price increase in liquefied petroleum cylinders on the day BJP’s price rise under Karnataka Congress ruled.

Mr Somashekar proved that the rising milk prices in the state government would benefit farmers, who found it difficult not only to cope with the general price increase, but also to cope with the input costs of agriculture.

Unfortunately, the BJP is using the price increase to assure the state’s loved ones that plan is projected with a bad view, he said. He also questioned the center’s move to raise fuel prices when international crude prices fell.
