The letters outlining the former prime minister’s decision-making process were released after four and a half years of legal battles this week.
As part of the state’s extensive lockdown measures, Victorian Victorians were forced to stay at home in the 2020 curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
At the time, Mr Andrews would not reveal who imagined the idea of lockdown, but admitted that “these were the decisions I made in the end”.
Since September 2020, the Freedom of Information War launched by opposition House leader David Davis reveals that lockdowns are not proposed by health experts but “a decision made by the cabinet,” according to Pioneer the Sun.
Former Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton and then-public health commander Finn Romanes discussed in an email exchange that medical experts finally supported the authorizations, even if they did not propose them.
Victoria’s current Prime Minister Jacinta Allan is part of a seven-member crisis cabinet that signed on lockdown, and she is the only member of the party who still serves in parliament.
Mr Davis said Mr Andrews was also the public who was informed during the lockdown period.

Opposition House leaders hope that the release of this information will lead to an explanation from the government.
“Not only (for) former Prime Minister Daniel Andrews wants to explain, but just as his hand chose successor.”
“She can’t hide under the rocks given her close involvement in the damage caused to the Victorians.”
Mr Andrews declared a state of disaster after the rise began in Victoria on August 2, 2020.
The order gave Lisa Neville, then Minister of Police and Emergency Services, a wide range of powers to ensure people comply with a six-week curfew.
“These are tough choices, but they are the decisions I make because they are the decisions that can keep us safe,” Andrews said at the time.
Later that day, Dr. Romanis, the Public Health Commander, wrote to Professor Sutton asking if he wanted the Department of Health and Human Services to align with the new lockdown.
He wrote: “I noticed that Kate Houghton and others (the Minister of Justice and Community Security) advised me that the action of the curfew was a clear action in a state of disaster, and that there was a clear desire within the government to reflect within the emergency, but pointed out that the curator’s ideas did not elicit public health advice in the first instance.”

Dr. Romani clarified in his letter that the action to issue a curfew by his department “is not out of public health advice but a decision made by the cabinet.”
Thirty minutes later, Professor Sutton sent back a confirmation letter, telling Dr. Romani that his assessment was “correctly understood.”
Professor Sutton said in September 2020 that the implementation of a curfew was not his idea, and Mr Andrews said he could not say “when exactly is the time” to propose the plan.
In March, a government spokesman recently defended Mr Andrews’ actions “The necessary conditions to protect all Victorians and save lives.”
