Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that despite a lot of increase in funding allocation from the center to Tamil Nadu, “some people” are used to crying for no reason.
Mr. Modi spoke at the public meeting after the opening ceremony, following the presence of Ministers Thangam thangam thenarasu and RS Rajakannappan.
A total of 77 railway stations have been redeveloped. In addition, a “generous distribution” was made for rural roads and road projects in Tamil Nadu. He added that modern public transport systems are also being built.
The Prime Minister further stated that the Centre has made great contributions to housing plans and crop insurance. He added that the PM-Kisan and Jan Aushadhi plan will benefit from a large number of people in Tamil Nadu.
It may be remembered that the DMK has been accusing the centre of gradual treatment of Tamil Nadu to allocate funds.
Mr Modi said the centre is also taking steps to provide better infrastructure for fishermen. He said the Indian government is standing with the fishermen. He added that over the past decade, a total of 3,100 fishermen have been arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for poaching in the waters of the island country.
He further said that the centre successfully withdrew some fishermen from the jaws of death after the Sri Lankan court was sentenced to death.
Mr Modi said the centre has approved 11 government medical schools for Tamil Nadu and called on the state government to start medical courses with Tamil as a medium of teaching.
Mr Modi said good governance means taxpayers’ money benefits the poorest of the poor, saying the PM-Kisan program and crop insurance benefited the poor in the state.
