He is Harsimrat Randhawa, a 21-year-old Indian student who was killed by a Stray bullet in Canada

“We are very saddened by the tragic death of Harsimrat Randhawa, an Indian student in Hamilton, Ontario,” the Consulate General of India in Toronto said in a post on Friday.

A 21-year-old Indian student was killed in Canada after a wandering bullet attacked her. She was waiting at the bus stop on her way to work when the shooting was fired by the car occupant. Harsimrat Randhawa is a student at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. Hamilton police are investigating the homicide that took place on Wednesday, saying Ms. Lambawa was an innocent bystander.

“We are very saddened by the tragic death of Harsimrat Randhawa, an Indian student in Hamilton, Ontario,” the Consulate General of India in Toronto said in a post on Friday.

“According to the local police, she is an innocent victim, fatally killed by a homeless bullet in a shooting involving two vehicles. A homicide investigation is underway. We are maintaining close contact with her family and are expanding all necessary help. During this difficult time, we pray and pray with our family who have lost their loved ones.”

Hamilton police said in a statement that it received reports of shootings near Upper James and South Bend Road Street in Hamilton at around 7.30 p.m. When police arrived, they found Randawa had a gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to the hospital but surrendered.

Through the video collected, investigators determined that the passenger of a black car fired a gun at the occupant of the white sedan. The vehicle left the scene shortly after the shooting.

The shooting also entered the rear window of nearby homes, where residents watched TV a few feet away. Police said no one was injured.

Investigators ask anyone who uses an instrument car or security camera lens near the shooting area to contact the authorities and provide any information that will aid further investigation.
