New York helicopter crash: CNN reported that at least six people died after a helicopter crashed in New York’s Hudson River on Thursday, CNN quoted the mayor of New York City.

The deceased included a pilot and a family from Spain. According to CNN, the crash occurred at Pier 40 in the afternoon and involved a bell-sounding 206L-4 Longranger IV helicopter that took off from the lower part of Manhattan and circled around the statue of freedom and flew north along the Hudson River toward the George Washington Bridge. It then turns south and then falls into a river near New Jersey.

Meanwhile, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) issued a consultation following the crash, pointing out that the number of emergency vehicles and traffic delays in the area will increase. “Urgent vehicle and traffic delays in the surrounding area are expected due to a helicopter crash on the Hudson River near the West Side Expressway and Spring Street,” the New York Police Department said.

According to CNN, the weather conditions at the time of the event were cloudy, with winds of about 10 to 15 mph and gusts of up to 25 mph. Visibility is good, but light rain is expected to enter the area.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the incident and said it is working with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which is leading the investigation. Waiting for more details.
