3 Days Saluru Syamalamba Festival starts today

Visakhapatnam: The long-awaited Saluru Shyamalamba Festival is scheduled to begin on Sunday in the village of Saluru in the Parvathipuram district, marking its return after 15 years of vacation. The three-day celebrations were held on May 18, 19, Tholellu and Siri Manu Utsav on May 20.
Gummidi Sandhya Rani, Minister of Women and Children’s Welfare and Tribal Welfare, oversees preparations for ensuring the grand event. During several meetings, the minister directed district government officials to pay special attention to key aspects such as water supply, electricity and health incidents. Police have established a control room and strengthened the harnessing measures, while designated routes and five parking areas have been arranged to allow smooth access to the town.
Health services have been supported by 14 medical battalions and 3 108 emergency vehicles, and RTC has announced 148 bus services from various regions. The donation department has launched three Darshan systems: free, special tickets for 20 and 50 Visista tickets, while instilling ritual services of 40. In addition to ensuring the safety of installing 15 CCTV cameras, the municipality has also established 50 temporary toilets by deploying 200 sanitation workers. Additionally, EPDCL has installed new transformers and poles to ensure uninterrupted power.
Minister Sandialani stressed that traffic management, mainly on the days when the festival ends, would be crucial and urged officials to prepare for any unexpected events during the celebration.
