35 Telugu Candidates Cracked UPSC 2024

Hyderabad:The results of the 2024 Civil Service Examination announced on Tuesday are 35 candidates from Telugu State, although their presence has been slightly lower than previous years.

Ottomania alumni Ettaboyina Sai Shivani (Air 11) leads the Telugu score list this year, followed by Banna Venkatesh (Air 15), Ravula Jayasimha Reddy (Air 46) and Chintakindi Shravan Kumar Kumar Reddy (Air 62) among others.

Nationally, there are three women in the top five: Shakti Dubey of Banaras Indian University, Harshita Goyal of Haryana, Shah Margi Chirag, Dongre Archite Parag of Maharashtra and Aakash Garg of Delhi, ranked fifth.

The head of the coaching center and educators attributed successful candidate declines from the region to conflict with the schedule of Group I exams held in both states. “Many aspiring people either postponed their attempts or were caught in the messy exams,” said Gopalakrishna V., director of the Hyderabad-based coaching institute.

A total of 1,009 candidates were selected to be appointed as a variety of central services for the preliminary examinations of 500,000 times, of which 14,627 were cleared, while 2,845 entered the interview stage from January to April 2025.

In Telugu State, 42,560 candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh participated in the preliminaries. About 500 in the area are eligible for mains, with more than 75 entering the final interview phase.

Among those who check the exam is Kshitij Sharma (Air 58), a former company lawyer who prepares in Hyderabad. Sharma was attracted to public services during the pandemic, “It wasn’t a sprint, it was a marathon. I found strength in yoga, consistency and my support at close range.” Despite being originally from Bhopal, he has a close personal connection with Telangana.

Preethi AC (AIR 263) is prepared primarily through self-study and attributes her success to a desire to work for society. “Some events in my life have led me to choose this path,” she said.

Nelaturu Sreekanth Reddy (Air 151) was prepared by Bangalore, and he said the services provide a meaningful way to directly understand people’s problems and contribute to solutions.

Ramtenki Sudhakar (Air 949) is a Bodampalli native in the Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, Ramtenki Sudhakar (Air 949). Sudhakar is the son of Somayya, a daily wage worker, who studied in public schools and was guided by his parents, and despite limited formal education, they firmly believe that learning is the only way to get out of trouble.

At his master’s degree in chemistry at IIT Kharagpur, he cracked the civil servants in his first attempt. His parents and villagers celebrated their success with pride, calling it a dream come true. “No matter how hard things are, he will not give up,” his parents said. “He always thought education would change our lives.”

“Civil services provide a platform to create greater impact and bring positive change in society. I believe direct public interaction helps understand people’s problems firsthshen. It also offers learning that can shape better policies in future. My inclination is largely self-motivated, though I deeply admire the work of several serving officers. I look forward to doing my best while upholding constitutional and civil service values,” Sreekanth Reddy told Deccan Chronicle.

The final list includes aspiring people from different academic and socio-economic backgrounds, reflecting the growing dream of civil servants. As attention now shifts to service allocation and training, the results also prompt discussions to align regional and national competitive exam calendars to ensure wider participation.
