3,796 fishermen receive financial aid in Vizianagaram

Visakhapatnam: On Monday, the Vizianagaram district government allocated Rs 759 crore in financial aid on Monday, and on Monday it allocated financial aid to 3,796 coastal fishermen. During the annual ban, each fisherman received Rs 20,000 in assistance.
Minister Kondapalli Srinivas said during this time that aid was part of the coalition government’s election commitment to support the fishing community.
“As promised, our hunting ban allowance increases the tax rate per household from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000,” he said. “In the whole state, under the scheme, we will provide Rs 25.9 crore to 129,718 fishermen.”
The minister outlined some initiatives aimed at improving fishermen’s livelihoods, including monthly pensions, including 68,396 statewide fishermen, died during the fishing operation, enjoyed a former Gratia of Rs 1 million, and a diesel subsidy of Rs 9 for fishing boats. He also mentioned plans to establish 10 fish landing centers and 5 fishing ports across the state.
“If technically feasible, we will look at the possibility of upgrading the Chintapalli fish landing center to a mature port,” the minister added, announcing plans to promote seaweed cultivation through groups of female fishermen and introducing solar dryers for fish processing.
Mlas Lokam Nagamadhavi, Aditi Gajapathi, MLC Indukuri Raghuraj and regional collector BR Ambedkar were present.
