The woman was strangled to death and the body was found thrown on the roadside of Thana
Police said Saturday that an unidentified person strangled a woman and threw her body on the roadside in Tana district, Maharashtra. The woman was found dead in her early 30s to mid-30s on Friday in the Takurgaon region of Biwandi, an official said. He said the identity of the late woman has not been established.
He said a murder case was registered at the Kongaon police station after preliminary investigations showed the woman died of strangulation. The body has been sent for a post-mortem and is working to identify the victims, the official said.
