487 candidates selected at Hubballi’s Job Fair

Hubballi Rotary Club and the Regional Employment Exchange Center organized a job fair on April 27 at the Kle Society PC Jobin College in Hubballi.

About 70 companies participated in job fairs. A total of 1,820 candidates were registered. Among them, 487 were selected and 670 were shortlisted.

MLC SV Sankanur launched the event. He claimed to have worked in the Gadag, Dharwad and Haveri regions for 10 years. “I promised it before being elected. I kept my promise,” he said.

“Unemployment is not only an issue for India. It is a global issue that needs immediate attention. Government recruitment is only appointed after retirees retire. It is the private sector of investment, but their investments are focused on Bangladesh.

He urged young people to stop craving for government work. They should turn around entrepreneurs and create jobs. He said they should use various government facilities and opportunities provided to build industries and businesses.

MLA Mahesh Tenginakai said that various central government agencies are organizing job fairs in rural areas and private agencies will help locals find jobs near their residence. “But, youth should become entrepreneurs,” he said.
