51 dead, injured in nightclub fire in northern Macedonia More | World News

Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski said in a press conference that a fire broke out earlier on Sunday at a nightclub in Kocani, a small town in southern Macedonia, killing 51 people and injuring about 100 people.

According to Toshkovski, the fire started left and right at a concert by local pop bands. He said the young club used fireworks technology to cause the roof to catch fire. Videos on social media show internal chaos.

Family members gathered in front of the hospital, Kokani’s city office begged authorities for more information.

Toshkovski said police had arrested a man but did not provide details about the person’s involvement.
