Punjab terrorist attack: FBI arrests Babar Harsa

The FBI and the Law Enforcement and Evacuation Operations (ERO) arrested a terrorist involved in the attack on Harpreet Singh in Punjab, U.S., on Friday (April 18, 2025). The FBI said Harpreet Singh was linked to two international terrorist organizations and entered the United States illegally.

The September 2024 attack was intended to target a retired officer of the Punjab police, whom the attackers believed were residents of the House.
Rinda, together with the happy Passia, planned a conspiracy to suffer terrorist attacks between law enforcement officers and the public through grenade attacks, as part of the broader purpose of promoting the BKI’s terrorism agenda. They recruited local agents, namely Rohan Masih and Vishal Masih, whose mission was to attack as they directed. The investigation revealed that Rinda and Happy instructed another defendant, Rohan Masih and Vishal Masih, to reconnaise the target twice before throwing the grenade.
In the fees filed with the Special NIA Court, Chandigarh was charged in the case of RC15/2024/NIA/DLI, all four defendants were charged in the provisions of the Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosive Substances Act, the Explosive Substances Act and other related provisions and in supporting attacks.
The investigation in the case continues, with the NIA trying to track other members of the BKI terrorist group and tear down its network in India.
