55 transmission projects worth Rs 4965 are executed in the AP

Vijayawada: AP Transco has strengthened the state’s power transmission system, according to the system, including 18 transmission projects that enhance ICT capacity, including reactive power management for 7400kV and 11 220kV stations – has been commissioned with a total cost of Rs 109.5 crore.
The chief secretary, who is responsible for the Ministry of Energy K Vijayanand, said the projects will enhance the system capacity for power evacuation and meet the rising energy demand in these regions.
Vijayanand hosted an advanced review meeting in online mode on Friday, which evaluated progress on Aptransco’s main infrastructure work in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Kadapa’s main project areas.
He said 55 transmission projects, including projects that increase ICT capacity and other bus reactors worth $4.965 billion in reactive power management, are at various stages of execution. The projects have voltage levels ranging from 400kV to 132kV and are scheduled to be commissioned in the current and next two fiscal years.
He said, “Furthering these efforts, APTRANSCO has recently placed orders for nearly 10 major transmission projects at a cost of Rs 3407 crore. These include important works such as the diversity of 400kV and 220kV lines within the APCRDA region. In addition, tenderers are being floated for 47 upcoming works costing `5323 crore under various government schemes.”
These initiatives will further enhance the grid by ensuring improved delivery of electricity and benefit end-use consumers. ” Vijayanand said.
He said AP Transco is also ready to meet expected daily consumption, which is expected to reach about 260 million vehicles, under the guidance of Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar. Power entities are taking positive steps to speed up ongoing and upcoming projects to ensure an uninterrupted and reliable 24×7 power supply.
“These projects are crucial to strengthening the transmission backbone of AP, especially in rapidly expanding urban and industrial areas. They will also play a key role in facilitating the integration of solar, wind, wind, Haider and pumped storage power, aligning with the country’s vision for clean and sustainable energy,” he said.
Vijayanand reiterates AP Transco’s commitment to building resilient, modern and scalable transmission networks. He stressed that the timely implementation of these projects is critical not only to achieve the state’s energy goals, but also to ensure long-term power reliability and support the economic growth of AP.
