Jallikattu events organized in the Thankurichi village of Tiruchi area and Papanivit village of Pudukoti area caused 59 injuries on Friday.
Police sources said as many as 559 bulls were released during the event held in Thachankurichi, with 140 involved in drugs. 16 people were injured, five of them were referred to the hospital and the remaining 11 were treated on the ground.
Papanviduthi’s event saw the release of 742 Bulls, with 212 tamers participating in the competition. Sources added that 43 people were injured, 10 of whom were referred to Pudukottai Government Medical College Hospital, while the remaining 33 were treated at the venue.
