Nearly twenty spectators were reportedly injured in a soccer match in Kothamangalam later Sunday, part of a temporary wooden gallery in Kothamangalam.
Nearly 4,000 injured people who were taken to various hospitals gathered to witness the final of the competition, which was reportedly held on a flood ground at a school. Children and women are also audiences.
Part of the gallery fell, and it was reportedly on one side before the competition began. The game was subsequently cancelled. Pothanikad police are investigating the cause of the accident.
