CDFD and NFSU use MOU to enhance forensic innovation

Hyderabad: The major promotion of forensic innovation by the Center for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in Hyderabad and the National Forensic University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar has joined forces to engage in DNA-based technologies and their applications in judicial service systems.
As part of the memorandum of understanding signed on Monday, the two agencies will work together to develop and validate advanced DNA forensic and database technologies. The partnership also includes collaborative research in forensic genomics, proteomics, toxicology and diagnosis.
A key highlight of the MoU is the establishment of the International Society for Physicians and Physical Technology (ISFB) to promote global cooperation, standardization and knowledge exchange in the field. In addition, both institutions will design and offer professional development programs such as certificate programs, workshops and internships for forensic professionals, law enforcement officers and members of the judiciary.
The Memorandum of Understanding also supports technology incubation and transfer to promote indigenous forensic innovation with the Government of India Atmanirbhar Bharat and develop initiatives in India. In addition, CDFD and NFSU will participate in a shared policy advocacy and publish research results in well-known peer-reviewed journals.
To facilitate ongoing academic exchanges, these institutions will organize annual international conferences and seminars focusing on emerging trends in forensic substance technology.
