Top Uttar Pradesh leader To BR Ambedkar, the drafting committee of the Indian Constitutional Assembly, is India’s first legal minister and an idol of Dalit, who celebrated his birth anniversary on Monday, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the “zero poverty” mission will be named after Dr. Bharat Ratna Bharatna Bhimrao Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said the initiative will be launched later this month to raise the poverty line above all those who are poor and deprived.
Mr Adityanath accused Congress and the Samawadi Party (SP) of having been disrespectful to Baba Saheb when he paid tribute to the late leader in Lucknow. “When he was still alive, they insulted him, and even after his death, they tried to suppress his values and ideals,” UP CM said. He claimed that the Congress party blocked the construction of Dr Ambedka’s memorial in Delhi. “At the same time, SP publicly stated that if such a memorial was built, they would demolish it.”
Mr Adityanath added that other parties have politically carried out under the name of Ambedkar, but it was BJP that fulfilled his vision to raise the oppressed. “The state and coalition governments have taken various steps, such as establishing Baba Sahib’s ‘panch teerth’ to realize his legacy.”
The chairman of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and former UP chief minister Mayawati praised the late leader’s contribution as an architect of the Indian constitution and a champion of social justice. BSP leaders accused the BJP and Congress of neglecting Dalit and marginalized parts. Today, in his birth anniversary, in the dedication of the Ambed Kawadi Party, the BSP, has paid tribute to the manufacturers of the Constitution, Garlands and huge tributes, Baba Saheb, the most respected by Bharat Ratna, Baba Saheb, under Congress, has now turned into bad days rather than “good days” due to the planned attack on their constitutional reservations, which is very sad and worrying.”
Akhilesh Yadav, chairman of the Samajwadi Party (SP), also paid tribute to Dr. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary and was determined to establish a social justice rule. “Determined to establish social justice rule, April 14, 2025.
