Saif Ali Khan will be next in Jewelry Thief: Robbery, saying the robbery movie attracts viewers because of their unique character arc and a story full of moral ambiguity. The film uses Khan as a jewelry thief and is hired by powerful criminal lords to steal the world’s most elusive diamond – the African Red Sunshine. “In robbery movies, the line between heroes, anti-heroes and masterminds is often blurred. I like robbery movies are technically wrong; he breaks the law, but he does so with good reason to help people in his family; it’s a glorious theft. So, it’s an exciting character.”
“He likes the skills of the crime type, and people like to watch people break the law in movies like this; it gives them a chance to master the system; that’s what the robbery movie means. It has a very powerful anti-hero antagonist in Jaideep, so that’s a lovely part for me.”
Pathaan’s famous filmmaker Siddharth Anand made the film with his wife Mamta Anand and under their banner Marflix pictures. Jewel Thief: The robbery began to reunite Anand and Saif after 17 years. The duo has previously worked on Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007). Anand said it was always fun to work with Khan.
“Saif is the same. He’s cute, he’s a darling, and makes everyone feel comfortable. Sometimes his jokes are scary because that’s what his sense of humor is.”
Jewel Thief: The heist starts to debut on Netflix on April 25.
