Protest against vested interests-driven WAQF (Amendment) Bill: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy was accused of AIMIM and others protesting the WAQF (Amendment) bill on Tuesday to try to mislead the public and claim that those who have plundered WAQF Properties for decades are now against reforms aimed at welfare. Reddy claims that AIMIM and Congress are conducting a “false campaign” against the NDA administration and the BJP.

In response to inquiries about the protests, it was recommended to organize Aimim and All Indian Muslim Personal Law Commission (AIMPLB) here on April 19, he said the WAQF board should help poor Muslims but “used by Majlis (Aimim) people and large Muslim robbers”.

“Now, the mafia that has plundered the WAQF board of directors for many years is now protesting. I want to call on the Muslim community. Until today, poor Muslims have not received any benefit from the WAQF. We want to assure you on behalf of the Modi government. In the days to come, we will make sure to state PTI here,” he told PTI. ”

The union minister claims that the Modi government’s amendment to the WAQF legislation is intended to develop WAQF property and protect it from encroachment.

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi announced that AIMPLB will hold a protest meeting against the WAQF (Amendment) bill in Hyderabad on April 19. The conference will be held in Darussalam (Aimim’s headquarters) under the leadership of AIMPLB President Khalid Saifullah Rahmani.

In informal interactions with journalists, Kishan Reddy, also Telangana’s BJP president, said the BJP will contact the Muslim community through the WAQF Amendment. He said a planning meeting will be held here on April 17. He denied this when asked about reports that his name was considered for the BJP state presidency.
