This small village is the “factory” of upsc
As we all know, the UPSC (United Public Service Commission) exam is one of the toughest exams in the world. Every year, hundreds of thousands of students from all over the country prepare and take this exam. Of all these students, only about 1000 to 1200 students were selected for senior government services such as IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Ministry) and IRS (Indian Taxation Service). However, there is a small village in India that has been named for many years by producing large numbers of civil servants – this village is called Madhopatti.
Madhopatti is only 7 km from Jaunpur city in Uttar Pradesh and is known for the number of IAS, IPS and PC (provincial civil servants) officials. According to media reports, there are more than 40 officers in this village alone. This is a huge achievement for such a small place, and people are often surprised to know this.
A small village with big dreams
Madhopatti has a population of about 4,000, and there are only 75 houses in the village. But the people’s dreams here are huge. What makes Madhopatti even more special is that not only the son, but also the daughter and daughter of the village have cleared the UPSC and PC exams and are now in the highest position.
In Madhopatti, the culture of preparing for competitive exams is strong. From the time they entered university, students here began to prepare for UPSC. The village environment encourages hard work and families fully support children’s dreams.
Legacy begins after independence
Madhopatti’s success story began shortly after India gained independence. In 1952, Indu Prakash Singh became the first IFS officers in the village. Then in 1955, Vinay Kumar Singh cleared the UPSC exam and went on to become an IAS official and later became Chief Secretary of Bihar. A remarkable fact is that the four siblings of a family of Madhopatti cleared the UPSC exam and joined various services such as IAS and IPS.
Many officials in the village work in important offices such as the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Some young people from Madhopatti are also employed by senior scientific and international institutions such as the ISRO, Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), and even the World Bank.
Madhopatti proves that even a small village with the right mindset and dedication can shine on the national and global stages. It is really encouraging for students and parents throughout India.
