Tiger kills seven-year-old boy in Lansangburg National Park

A tiger killed a seven-year-old boy near Trinetra Ganesh Temple in Ranthambore National Park in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan on Wednesday (16 April 2025). Later, his body recovered from the depths of the forest.

The tiger emerged from the bushes in the Amre area on the temple route, grabbed the child, dragged him away, and disappeared in the forest.

The incident caused panic among the devotees who returned after praying in the temple. People rushed to Ganesh Dham Police to report reports of the attacks, after which forest officials arrived at the scene, evacuated devotees and closed all routes to Temple.

The Trinetra Ganesh Temple is located in the historic Lanceborg Fort. Hindus devotees visited the temple in large numbers to provide Lord Ganesha with a “first invitation” for auspicious events in their homes in search of divine intervention.

The deceased boy was identified as a resident of Gohta village in Bondi area Kartik Suman. Ironically, his grandfather took his picture in jeans and a blue T-shirt and sat outside the temple half an hour before the incident with Langel.

Forest officials launched a rescue operation and placed the tiger in the depths of the forest with the boy’s body. Officials may have great difficulties after making great efforts and recovered the child’s body at night.

The body was later transferred to a morgue at the Sawai Madhopur regional hospital and handed over to the family after an autopsy. Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena visited the hospital and met with Kartik’s family to express her condolences.
