Exam II 1 PUC student who fails but is eligible for exam 2 of CET consultation: Minister

Minister of School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa said PUC students who failed Exam 1 but registered for the annual Exam 2 will be eligible for the first round of its own Karnataka Commun Admissions Exam (KCET-2025) consultation. “This provides opportunities for students who have not been able to continue their higher education in Exam 1,” he said.

Of the 1,69,353 students who have not cleared Exam 1, about 157,000 (92.4%) have now recruited Exam 2, which will begin on April 24. Mr Bangarappa said: “The CET authorities have confirmed that they will wait to accommodate these students (second test candidates) to ensure that their qualifications are ensured based on the results of the second test.”

The minister also highlighted the positive turnout for Exam 2 and noted that more than 70,000 students who have passed Exam 1 have been re-entered to improve their scores.

“Seeing 92.4% of students who have not cleared the exam, taking Exam 2 is a very positive signal. Remedial courses are being actively conducted for those who take Exam 2, with attendance rates as high as 95%, indicating that the student’s commitment is high, indicating that the mock exams are also preparing for the second and third exams in order to prepare for the second and third exams,” he added.
