Food poisoning: 12 migrant workers are hospitalized in Kochi

Twelve migrant workers were taken to a government medical school hospital near here after cases of food poisoning, health officials said Friday.

Workers initially sought treatment at Tripunithura taluk government hospital after experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting on Thursday afternoon.

They were later referred to the Ernakulam Government Medical College Hospital in Karama County and were admitted to the emergency room at around 8.30 p.m., according to health officials.

Health officials said the disease was reportedly followed by the consumption of home-cooked food.

All patients are in good condition, said Ganesh Mohan, president of the School of Medicine.
