Canterbury – Bankstown Bulldogs eliminate South Sydney rabbits on Good Friday

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs achieved a commanding performance in the historic Good Friday conflict on April 18, 2025, defeating Sydney’s Accor Stadium 32-0 in the National Rugby League.

The victory marked the Bulldogs’ first 6-0 season since 1938 and was witnessed by a record-breaking crowd of 65,305 fans, the largest NRL regular season ever.

After defeating Newcastle 20-0 in the 5th round, the Bulldogs’ defense helped them get back-to-back closures for the first time in club history. Key contributors include Josh Curran, Max King, Sereri Toponkua, Jacob Preston and Bronson Xerri, and each crossed the line of trial. Mmax King, in particular, ended the 80-game scoring drought and dominated the field with a 130-meter run in the initial race.
The Rabbitohs were hampered by 60%-40% of the flaws throughout the process, while star player Latrell Mitchell had limited influence, who had only one run in the first half. Euan Aitken exacerbated their challenge in the challenge, being criminalized for a professional foul, while Lachlan Hubner quits early due to a head knock.

In another round 7 match, the Melbourne Storm continued to perform strongly, beating the Dolphins 32-12 at the Suncorp Stadium. The return of centre-back Jahrome Hughes strengthened the storm’s victory, who overcame shoulder injuries and made a significant contribution to the victory.

These results strengthen the Bulldogs’ position at the top of the NRL ladder, while the Storm maintained momentum in Premier League games.
