U.S. Vice President Says He is “Optimistic” Russia – Ukraine War Can End

Vice President JD Vance said on Friday that the United States is optimistic that it can end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Vance saw Meloni in Washington Thursday, and the two have since flew to the Italian capital before the Easter holiday.
“I want to update some of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, even in the last 24 hours, we think we have something interesting to report,” Vance told reporters while sitting in Meloni.
He added: “I won’t judge them in advance because of some negotiations, but we do feel optimistic that we have hope to bring about this war, a very cruel war.”
Hours ago, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said U.S. President Donald Trump will attempt to facilitate a Russian-Ukrainian peace deal within days unless there are clear signs that a deal can be reached.
