Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of Hurriyat and chief pastor of Kashmir, accused authorities of intentionally not allowing him to hold congregational prayers in Srinagar’s historic Jama Masjid in a bid to “oppress him.”

This ban is also intended to weaken my pressure.

He said his house detention case is still being heard in court. “I am seeking relief from the High Court. At this time, patience remains our only strength.”

The Ministry of the Interior (MHA) also banned the AWAMI Action Committee (AAC) of Milwaz. Mirwaiz said he has been repeatedly denied permission to visit Jama Masjid in Srinagar on Friday, where he served as a preacher. Mirwaiz also led the Anti-Waqf (Amendment) Act) in J&K.

J&K Police belongs to J&K Lieutenant Manoj Sinha and has not issued any statements to limit Mirwaiz’s movement.

Exceptions to the Rule National Conference (NC) to prohibit Mirwaiz from participating in Friday’s prayers. “It is unjust to prevent religious leaders from fulfiling their religious obligations. True normality must be extended to all without exception,” said Tanvir Sadiq, NC leader and lawmaker.
