MEA slams Pakistan’s abuse of the Organization of Islamic Conference, calling it “long-term habit”

Foreign Minister Vikram Misri was asked about Pakistan’s repeated abuse of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), and Saudi Arabia was seen as the main voice.
In answering this question, Misri said: “Abuse of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Pakistan – it’s a long-standing habit that we often object to and have raised in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) with our friends and partners.”
Misri called Pakistan’s move “a prank” and “had some opinion on the other members of these pranks among them, practiced in the OIC, but we will continue to share our views and draw our attention to these attempts.
According to its official website, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the second largest intergovernmental organization after the United Nations. It has 57 member states on four continents and claims to represent the collective voice of the Muslim world. The organization is committed to protecting the interests of Muslims and promoting peace and harmony globally.
Misri’s remarks were officially visited by Prime Minister Modi’s official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Modi had previously visited Saudi Arabia in 2016 and 2019. The visit also visited Mohammed Bin Salman’s State Department visit, which made a visit to New Delhi in September 2023. During this visit, he co-chaired the first meeting of the Indian-Sudi Arab Strategic Partnership Committee.
Foreign Minister Misri said in a briefing that the upcoming visit reflects a strong partnership between India and Saudi Arabia.
