Union Minister Rammohan Naidu announces Andhra’s coastal tourism hub plan

Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh), April 19: Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced on Saturday that Baruva Beach in Sompeta Mandal, Srikakulam district will develop into a tourism hub offering scuba diving, Paramotor Flying and Eco-Tourismans water sports.

After the beach festival was launched here, Naidu unveiled these plans. The Minister of Civil Aviation Union told reporters: “Planning is being made to transform Baruva into a mini Goa.

He stressed that young people will receive training in diving, mentoring and event management.

Regional collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar outlines the importance of balancing tourism with conservation. The festival includes coastal cleaning, electronic waste drives and natural consciousness programs.

Collectors further noted that ecological exploration, painting competitions and biodiversity documentaries are planned to attract students and visitors. Indian Navy officials mentioned that the marine life around the 75-meter sunken ship is ideal for diving.

The Forest Department protects the olive Ridley turtles through 16 conservation centres, aiming to save Rs 2 lakh hatchery. The union minister also released the olive Ridley turtle larvae into the sea.
