Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang in Ladakh

Srinagar: The Ladakh people and government are working to visit the 37th successor of Delken Kuyu descent and the 7th reincarnation of Chetsang Rinpoche (the performance of Avalokiteshvara) in the last week of May.

A spokesperson for the reception committee told the newspaper by phone: “His holiness will receive the highest honors of the Tibetan and Ladakhi traditions.” Chetsang, born in Lhasa (Tibet) in 1946, is currently the head of Drikung Kyabgon or Drikung Order.

Tashi Gyalson, head of the Ladakh Mountain Development Council (LEH), visited the Ladakh subdivisions of the villages of Lamayuru and Wanla in Ladakh to review the five-day tour of Chetsang’s five-day visit in Drikung Snake. Local Councillors Lobzang Sherab, Morup Dorjey and Konchok Tsepal.

Mr Gyalson said tens of thousands of devotees and tourists are expected to visit the areas during his stay at Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang. He said that after the gap twelve years, the teachings were being held, so monks provided adequate support to all departments to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated arrangement.

He assured them that all possible efforts are being made to “ensure that necessary facilities are established before the event”. He stressed the significance of the region and he directed all departments to coordinate closely to meet the logistical requirements of this large-scale spiritual gathering.

“This visit is expected to witness large gatherings, including a large number of stopovers and short visits, including Phyang, Lingshed, Durbuk, Durbuk, Shachukul, Shachukul, Shachukul, Shachukul, Shachukul, Shachukul, Skindiang, Skindiang, Kargyam Satho, Kargyam Satho, Bodhkharbu, Humla, Humla and others are treated promptly and sometimes outdated in all aspects. The statement quoted him as saying: “This visit has profound spiritual and cultural value to the people of Ladakh and I call on all sectors and stakeholders to coordinate closely to ensure the success of the event.”
