Looking forward to Trump’s visit to India later this year: PM Modi tells JD Vance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance that he looks forward to meeting Donald Trump in India later this year.

“The Prime Minister sent his warm greetings to President Trump and said he was looking forward to visiting India later this year,” an official statement said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Monday against the backdrop of ongoing negotiations with a bilateral trade agreement. The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to further expand India-US-global strategic ties, as well as New Delhi’s concerns about Washington’s trade policy.
After Prime Minister Modi negotiated in Washington, D.C. in February, both sides announced that they would negotiate the first batch of bilateral trade agreements by fall 2025.

After the talks, the Prime Minister will hold a dinner for Vance, his Indian wife, Usha Chilukuri, and the vice president accompanying a delegation of senior U.S. government officials.
