As the Pentagon battles a series of public affairs crises, Uliott hinted in a harsh opinion article published Sunday night that President Donald Trump might have thought of firing Heggs.
“President Donald Trump has a solid record of demanding responsibility by his senior officials. It’s hard to imagine Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, given that, has long been in his own position.”
In another article published in December, Ullyot expressed strong support for Hegseth, noting that the veteran and former Fox News host “qualifies for the Department of Defense.”

Ullyot claims he remains loyal to his former boss even after resigning from the Pentagon earlier this week.
