India evaluates 28 global indices and finds some flawed indicators

A government official told ET that India is closely following the approach of 28 global indices such as Democracy Index, Cyber ​​Preparation Index, Global Hunger Index, etc.

“We are looking at these indices to identify any flaws or shortcomings,” the official said.
The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MOSPI) is analyzing the methods used by international agencies that conduct cross-border comparisons, including sample sizes and models.

The indexes reviewed are the Democratic Index for the Economist Intelligence Department, the Network Readiness Index for the Portulans Institute, the Global Hunger Index (GHI), the Global and Welthungerhilfe’s Global Hunger Index (GHI), and the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) by German Watts (DermanWatch), the new Climate Institute and the New Climate Action Institute and the Main Climate Action Internationals and the Climate Action Network.
