On Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Governor Rajeev Chandrasekhar began the Vikasita Kerala Congress here, announcing the slogan “vikasita keralam” is not only a rhetoric, but also a commitment to the people of the state. He slammed the ruling and left the government’s mismanagement of financial management.
“The state of KSRTC employees for free and ASHAS protests for months will cost Rs 1,000 crore on the anniversary celebration. It is a betrayal of public trust,” he said.
Mr Chandraskar said the transformation brought about by the Narendra Modi government has been recognized worldwide since 2014, while Kerala remains at a standstill.
“From a weak, corrupt country to a global economic power – this is a change that people voted in 2014. But why didn’t Kerala catch up? From defense to diplomacy, from economy to global respect – India has developed. But Kerala is still.”
He accused Congress of spreading false propaganda, including blaming Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the 2008 Mumbai attack. He claimed that corruption was rampant before 2014 and even India’s national security was damaged.
Mr Chandrasekhar stressed that global tech giants like Apple have invested only 500 kilometers in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, creating thousands of jobs, but none of them have flowed into Kerala.
He directly rejected the Rs 3,000 increase in Kerala, while celebrating the government’s anniversary with a huge budget. “It’s a government that doesn’t spend money to protect coastal communities or help 610 families in Munambam, but instead finds money to celebrate itself,” he said, adding that the BJP chief asserted that the BJP is the only party that can drive the state’s real transformation.
Senior BJP leaders, including Ramesh Hill, Sobha Surendran, Radhakrishnan and many others, have been exploring the convention.
Mr Chandrasekhar also issued strategic guidelines to win upcoming local physical elections in meeting with office employees at the district level. He also visited Thrissur’s RSS training camp and held a South District Congress in Kodungalur.
