Kerala government. Hiking Daily Wages and Contract Worker Payments

The state government has issued orders to hike, pay wages to employees and contract employees every day, and issue new norms. Under the regulations issued by the Ministry of Finance, the appointed official has directed the appointee to seek an affidavit from the appointee and he/she will not make any request for regular employment. There should be another one or two days gap when extending the release.

Individuals on daily wage posts are only eligible for a specified salary. They cannot claim any other benefits.

The Ministry of Finance noted in the April 19 order that in the state budget 2025-26, its wages would increase by 5%.

According to the order, the daily minimum wage has been raised to Rs 710, but the maximum monthly payment is Rs 19,170. The maximum payment will be Rs 2,060, but the maximum payment will be Rs 55,620 per month. For contract workers, the monthly contract wage has been raised to Rs 19,310 at the lower end, and at the higher stage, the contract wage is Rs 60,410.
