Florida pastor compares expelled immigrant Kilmar Garcia with Jesus in a dramatic Easter tribute

A progressive Florida pastor compared Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an El Salvador immigrant, to Jesus, in a passionate Easter sermon.

Pastor Andy Oliver of United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg compared in his speech on Sunday.

The pastor explained that he and 50 other congregations have been illuminating a candle of “peace, hope and justice” wrapped in barbed wire, symbolizing “the light of Christ that shines even in barbed wire policy.”

He then dedicated the candle to Abrego Garcia and other immigrants who were detained and deported.

Abrego Garcia, 33, was deported to his home last month after prosecutors claimed he was a member of the MS-13 gang.

In the free media, he was portrayed by some as a popular hero, but has been accused of multiple assaults on his wife in recent years.

The Trump administration continues to insist that Abrego Garcia is an MS-13 gangster and says he has previously appeared on law enforcement radars for drugs, linked to other MS-13 gang members and suspected of trafficking in humans.

The father of three denied all charges against him and had no criminal convictions in the United States or El Salvador.

He was sent home for an immigration judge’s order.

The Supreme Court recently ruled that the Trump administration must work to get Abego Garcia back, but the White House is digging its heels.

“This morning, we lit peace for all those marked as alien enemies and were deported, hoping to be the candle of justice. “Due to fear that they will be the next one or waiting for news that their loved ones are OK,” Oliver said. ”

“We continue to pray for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whom our government illegally kidnapped him after the Supreme Court has ordered.”

He also mentioned that Venezuelan musician Arturo Suárez Trejo also swept Trump’s mass deportation.

Oliver continues to urge officials to show mercy associated with Jesus, rather than the fear and contempt of pontius pilate [sic]’.

In the Bible, Pilate sentences Jesus to death after a false judgment.

Abrego Garcia has struggled in the infamous Cecot prison in El Salvador since El Salvador was removed from office.

Oliver compared the situation to a “concentration camp” because he pointed out that Abrego Garcia was denied “due process.”

“These detention centers are related to prisons compared to concentration camps because by definition, prisons operate within the judicial system.”

‘A person is arrested, charged and tried, if convicted. On the other hand, concentration camps play a role outside of the law.

“People are not judged indefinitely, not because of what they do, but for their own identity.”

In the reasons for deporting Kilmar Abrego, the Department of Homeland Security has released details about the incident where Tennessee Highway Patrol officials stopped immigration, which Tennessee Highway Patrol officials suspected he might be trafficking people.

The official made no charges and Kilmar Abrego was released without arrest.

Kilmar Abrego has also been charged with domestic abuse by his wife Jennifer Vasquez, who filed for a temporary protection order in 2021.

However, she later withdrew the charges and the incident resulted in no conviction.

Vasquez has been standing in her husband’s entire detention center.

White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt continued to insist that Abrego Garcia was a member of the gang, despite the Supreme Court’s credibility of the evidence being questioned.

Abrego Garcia fled 16-year-old El Salvador and entered the United States by illegal means.

However, he successfully argued that he would face persecution from his hometown gang and was therefore granted residency.
