Shikhar Dhawan’s advice to contestants to keep composing on the battlefield of fitness reality performance

Mumbai: Amazon’s free streaming platform, Amazon MX player, made a bet with Battleground, a vibrant fitness reality show with physical strength in line with psychological perseverance. The four leading teams are powerful figures – Asim Riaz, Rajat Dalal, Rubina Dilaik and Abhishek Malhan – directing their teams, each bringing their unique leadership style to the arena. At the center of this is cricket legend Shikhar Dhawan, who intervenes in the “super mentor”. Dhawan calmed, focused and intensely inspiring, brings his trademark calming and decades of experience to the show and blends discipline, strategy and silent observation contestants.
Shikhar shared while reflecting on the intensity of the game: “Watching the contestants bring me back to my game day. I remember it was a hot moment with Watson, who directly hit my stomach and laughed and said he joined the pain club. Later, he had to endure it because of his injury, I had to endure it, I had to endure it. The nerves have always been my business – into the opponent’s mind, I thrived in those struggles of thinking.”
Speaking about his approach as a mentor, he added, “I often tell contestants it’s not just about being physically fit— it’s about staying composed under pressure. I share critic stories with them, whether about myself, my teammates or senior players, to show them how success is shaped by resilience. While the mentors lead the charge with their teams, I stay observant— watching how they coach, what sort of Knowledge they’re passing on or how they’re treating their players. My job is to support and elevate that. ”
