Aamir Khan shares a major update to his “big ambition” Mahabharata, who reveals whether he will act in the Multi-Film franchise: “Hope…”

Over the past few years, Aamir Khan has shared that his dream project is to adapt the Sanskrit epic Epic Mahabharata to the big screen. When Khan confirmed in a recent interview that he would start researching the Mahabharata adaptation this year, it seemed like he was close to realizing his dream. The actor director also shared that he will produce the project with his banner Aamir Khan’s work. “This is one of my biggest ambitions and I hope to start working on it this year. It will take a while because the writing process will take several years.”

When asked which role he wanted to play in Mahabharata when the Basanti actor was asked, Aamir said he was not sure if he would act in the project and the cast team would pick the actors based on the identity of each character. “We will look at whom based on who fits in which section,” Khan said, further adding that it is impossible to tell the story of Maab Bharata in a movie, so it will be a multi-film franchise with different directors he shared: “It’s too early to say it, but we may need multiple directors. If we have to plan on a certain timeline, because if you’re going to do that, it will take a long time.

In an earlier interview with Galatta Plus in 2022, Aamir shared his skepticisms about making Mahabharata. “When you’re making a movie on Mahabharata, you’re not only making a movie. You’re doing yagya. It’s not just a movie, but more. And that’s why I’m not ready yet. I’m afraid to bring it out. Mahabharata will never let you down, and you might be disappointed is Mahabharata, he said.
