Minister Dura provides full support tobacco farmers

Nellol: Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy assured that during these challenging times, the government is committed to supporting tobacco farmers in every possible way.
The minister, along with Santanutalapadu MLA BN Vijay Kumar, visited the tobacco auction center in Pernamitta, Ongole on Tuesday. During the inspection, they interacted with tobacco board officials to understand the speed of procurement and pricing issues.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Dola pointed out that a large number of “no bids” plots (tobacco lots that did not receive any bids) are causing trouble for farmers. Reminding him of completing the tobacco auction in Karnataka, he urged an expedited procurement process in Andhra Pradesh.
He admitted to rejecting low-level tobacco and promised to ensure justice was delivered to affected farmers.
Dr. Dola announced plans to meet with traders to address pricing issues and address the popularity of NO-BID. He confirmed: “Even in the past, our government has supported farmers in difficult times. We will continue to provide full support and ensure that farmers do not suffer losses.”
The minister also directly engaged to farmers and traders, reviewing the quality of tobacco brought to the market and underlined the government’s commitment to ensuring the price of compensation. He assured that the concerns of tobacco growers will be notified by the Chief Minister.
