Literary, Cultural Festival in Kagwad tomorrow

Karnatak Vidyavardhakh Sangha (KVS), who has been working for the Kannada language land and language cause, will hold literary and cultural events in Kagwad, the border town of Bellagarve on Thursday.
KVS Secretary General Shankar Halgatti told Dharwad’s Presspersons on Tuesday that although Kannadigas is a person who respects peace in other languages and cultures, its lenientness should not be regarded as a weakness and no one is trying to intimidate them.
He said that while Bellagave is an integral part of Karnataka, some elements of Maharashtra are working to disturb peace and spread hatred, leading to verbal tensions at the border, which is uncoordinated.
“Sangha is holding literary and cultural events in Kagwad, providing appropriate responses to such elements through the Kannada Awareness Program,” he said.
The plan is titled the Kannada Awareness and Culture Celebration at Karnataka Border Region Development Agency and Shivananada College in Kagwad on Thursday.
He said Karnataka Border Region Development Bureau Chairman Somanna Bevinmarad will hold the event at 10 am and Kagwad’s Swami Yatishwaranand and scholar Gurulingappa Dubale will attend. The event will be hosted by Sangha President Chandrakant Bellad.
A parade team will be sent from Channamma Circle in Kagwad before the main event. He said that after the inauguration, various literary conferences and cultural events will be held at 6 p.m.
