In the recent administrative restructuring, the Uttar Pradesh government assumed significant responsibility to IAS official Harshika Singh. She has been promoted from the current Joint Magistrate Judge in Sadar Tehsil, Chandauli District and from her position. Harshika will now serve as Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Prayagraj District. In addition to this important position, she has also received additional charges from the Divisional Food Controller (RFC).
Harshika Singh is an IAS official in 2021 and has served in Chandauli earlier since November 2023. She initially worked in the District Sheriff’s Office and was assigned to Sadar Tehsil as Deputy District Magistrate Judge (SDM), where she worked for about a year and a half. Harshika is known for her active and efficient work style, earning the trust of the government through her dedication and performance. This new responsibility is seen as a sign of the state’s confidence in her abilities.
Education and family background
Harshika Singh Hails originally came from the village of Tikri Nagi in the Kaushambi area but grew up in Ghaziabad. She completed her studies from St. Children’s School and DPSG Meerut Road, earning an impressive 94% in Level 10 and 12.
After completing the project in 2017, Harshika began preparing for the civil service exam and successfully cracked the UPSC in 2021. Prior to that, she won 15th place in the UPPCS exam in 2020. Now, she returns to the area in a more important role.
Harshika comes from a well-educated and supported family. Her father, Awadhesh Kumar, is a businessman, her mother, Sneh Prabha Singh, is a housewife, and her younger brother, Deepak Singh, is a software engineer.
Her journey continues to inspire many young aspiring people who dream of joining the civil service, especially women.
