School Education Director VVVVVV Vijay Rama Raju said the Andhra Pradesh government is committed to the overall development of students with special needs (SWSN) in the state.
He spoke on Tuesday for state sports events for students with special needs (SWSN) under Samagra Shiksha in the village of Thotapalli in Agiripalli Mandal in Eluru District. He said the government plans to establish autism centers in 125 municipalities in the state to provide skills development, professional training, treatment and education to students showing characteristics of autism.
He refers to the recent DSC notice issued by the school education department, who said candidates with talent will be selected based on their merits without exams. He urged parents to recognize and develop talents in their children and encouraged them in various fields. He congratulated students, parents, coaches and state-level staff who participated in the event.
Mr Rama Raju said that such special sporting events will be held annually to create a platform to fully develop children with special needs. He said screening tests will be conducted for 35 million students in public schools across the state to identify problems and take appropriate action at the early stages. He added that the plan will be launched soon and detailed plans will be developed.
