Football Veterans Lead Friendly Games

Football fans and social media influencers set the stage for a friendly conflict between Kerala football veterans at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium on Tuesday night. The teams are captained by Im Vijayan and Jo Paul Ancheri, two of Kerala’s most outstanding footballers of all time.

The friendly “sevens” match marked the closing ceremony of the Media Football League organized by the press club. Jo Paul Ancheri-LED’s side wore a blue jersey when the team led by IM Vijayan wore a yellow jersey.

When he played multiple roles in the field, everyone’s eyes fell behind Im Vijayan – from defending the winger and occasionally positioning himself as a forward. Meanwhile, a quiet and agile Ebin Rose and Boniface scored a goal for Jo Paul’s side. Former East Bengal club player M. Suresh’s return attempt, he won a Scorcher in the second half, which helped Im Vijayan’s team stay hopeful until the end. Jo Paul’s team laughed at the end, and the team won 2-1 as the referee boasted the final whistle.

Yore’s football stars were ecstatic, and in the game they relaxed and strolled on the synthetic tracks of Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium to restore old memories. Jokes and laughter also found the share of veterans. Finally, they even saved time taking photos with fans present.
